2009 Awards Night Banquet

The COMMANDOS had their annual awards banquet Monday night at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.  The banquet honors all the players on both the varsity and freshman football teams as well as recognizes all the people involved with the program.  The players vote for Team Captains, MVP, MV Back, MV Lineman, Scout Team Award, and Special Teams Award.  There are also 3 awards not voted on by the team, the Academic Award goes to the player with the highest GPA, and the coaching staff votes for the +/- Award and the COMMANDO PRIDE Award.  This year’s winners were:

The team worked very hard this season to finish with a 7-4 record and a second straight appearance in the TSSAA playoffs.  We are very proud of everyone on the team and would like to thank all of the seniors for their hard work over the past 4 years.

 

The Freshman team also had award winners.  They vote on MVP, MV Lineman, MV Back, and Special Teams Award.  There is also a +/- Award voted on by the coaching staff.  This years Award winners were:

Congratulations to the Freshman team, who finished with a record of 6-2, and to all of the freshman award winners; we are looking forward to seeing all of them playing on the varsity team for the next 3 seasons.
