
The JV team finished their 2009 season with a win at Memorial Stadium over the Portland Panthers. Hendersonville got on the board early taking their first drive 70 yards as Jarius Golden would score on a 4 yard TD run. The PAT would make the score 7-0 early in the contest. Defenses would play tough for both teams on the next 3 possessions forcing 3 and outs. The COMMANDOS would drive in the second Quarter before being stopped on downs at the 24 yard line. Both Portland and HHS would force 3 and outs again before LaDontez Bryant would take the ball 80 yards for the COMMANDOS second score. A stop by HHS with 1 second left in the half would give HHS the ball back. They would run 1 play before going into halftime up 14-0. Conner Kant would do all the scoring in the 3rd Quarter as he would score 2 TD’s, the first being a 25 yard interception return, and the second being a 30 yard catch from Hunter Brown. Portland would have a 70 yard drive after Kant’s second TD that would end with a 7 yard TD run for the Panthers only score of the night. After Portland’s score, HHS would be forced 3 and out giving the Panthers the ball back. Bryant would come up with the COMMANDOS second interception on the game on the last play securing the 28-7 victory for HHS. The JV team ended the season with a 3-2 record. The Varsity team will play this Friday night October 23 at Beech in a critical District 9-AAA game. |
